Summary[]
Maikeru Arakawa is gearing up to be the first futatsume in the Arakawa school to take the shin’uchi exam since the big expulsion scandal that forced Akane’s father out of the rakugo world. That incident weighs heavily on all of Master Shiguma’s apprentices, but it hit Maikeru especially hard due to his close relationship with Shinta Arakawa. And worse, one of the Arakawa Arch Four, Zensho Arakawa, has it out for Maikeru due to their similar performance styles. Will Maikeru be able to gain the approval of the Arakawa Arch Four and overcome the hurdle that no one in the Arakawa school has even attempted since the scandal all those years ago, or will he face the same fate as Akane’s father?
Maikeru has been on the stage for the Shin'uchi Promotion Test, which no one had challenged since the excommunication incident. What plan will Maikeru show when he is put in a difficult position by Zensho Arakawa, who dislikes the Shiguma school? Maikeru Arakawa made his first appearance in chapter 5. Since then, 100 chapters and more than two years have passed, and I was finally able to depict him in a stage. Please look forward to volume 13, where Maikeru Arakawa will finally get to perform on stage.
This volume is entirely about Maikeru. Actually, it was decided a long time ago that Maikeru would tie his hair up when on stage. Before the serialization began, Suenaga-san sent me a character draft, which said that he would tie his hair up when on stage. I thought up the design to make that stand out, but I didn't think it would be unveiled until much later.
