Etymology[]
Real Name[]
- Shinta's real name Tohru means "clear/pierce" (徹) (tooru).
- Shinta's last name Osaki means "cherry/sakura" (桜) (ou) and "blossom" (咲) (saki).
Stage Name[]
- Shinta's name means "intention/aspire" (志) (shin) and "plump/thick" (太) (ta).

Appearance[]
He usually wears a kimono. After his expulsion he wears a white coat due to his work as a concrete salesman. He also has shorter hair.

Personality[]
He is usually distracted but despite this he has shown to be a kind person who cares about others. After his expulsion, he is usually down for not being able to practice rakugo. However, he is still a very kind and supportive father and husband.
Rakugo Style[]
"Not much is known about his rakugo style". However, he presented the "Ninjôbanashi - Tragicomic Stories", during the Shin'uchi of the Arakawa School promotion test. In the main story, he portrayed characters inspired by his wife and daughter, using changes in voice, expression, and gestures to bring the characters to life.[1]
History[]
He met Shiguma 13 years ago (currently 19 years) since then he has been practicing and studying the basics of rakugo, he practiced for years until reaching Futatsume rank. Upon entering Shiguma school, Shinta would meet Maikeru with whom he would establish a great friendship. During his time as a rakugoka, Shinta often performed with Chocho and Taizen and he used to go out drinking with Chocho and his pupil. At an unknown time, Shinta would have his first daughter, Akane. After a while, Shinta would spend time with the youngest pupil at the time, Koguma. During his exam to be promoted to Shin'uchi he was expelled by Issho, after that he got a job selling concrete.
It's unknown when he met Masaki but it is assumed that he met her after entering the Shiguma School.
