Etymology[]

Appearance[]
Kyoji is a tall, slim young man with fair skin and strong features. His dark eyes are set deep beneath short, thick brows and framed by long, dark lashes. He has short, shaved black hair that is styled in a messy, disheveled manner. He has a confident and charismatic aura, and his piercing gauze exudes a sense of intensity and determination.
Kyoji's outfit consists of a black shirt and dark pants and striped. When he performs he usually wears a kimono green moss.

Personality[]
Kyoji is a serious and polite pupil when talking to people, he is usually very strict when teaching his inferiors about rakugo. Despite this, he often helps people and their inferiors to improve their skills. He is also very observant as he can see the flaws in a person's rakugo.
He is diligent, always striving for perfection in his rakugo performances. He takes his role as a mentor to Akane seriously, teaching her the proper etiquette and techniques needed to succeed in the craft. Despite his calm demeanor, he has a tendency to explode when pushed too far. Kyoji's style of rakugo is comically serious, leaning into his naturally earnest nature to deliver hilariously deadpan performances. He is known for getting drunk easily and dancing like crazy, a surprising contrast to his usual stoic personality.

He is known for exaggerating his characters' reaction in a comedic way that belies his serious personality.
History[]
At some point he met Shiguma Arakawa whom taught him the basics of rakugo. He currently holds the Futatsume rank and helps hone his inferiors' skills. When Akane becomes Shiguma's official student, he offers to teach her about rakugo by pointing out her flaws and how to make rakugo.

- He doesn't handle alcohol, so he gets drunk with the first drink.[3] According to Mikuriya, Kyoji also tends to have that the same effect if he smells alcohol.
- According to Miroku's insinuations, Kyoji may have belonged to the Kashiwaya School under the name Kyoichi Kashiwaya.
