Personality[]
Kaisei is a ambitious, talented and proud individual who is passionate about his craft as a Rakugoka. He has a flamboyant and playful personality, but can also be serious and focused when it comes to honing his skills. Kaisei is fiercely loyal to his mentor Issho Arakawa and deeply appreciates the support and guidance he has received from him. However, Kaisei's clingy-feely nature and lack of personal space can sometimes make others feel uncomfortable around him. Despite this, he is a kind and generous person who always tries to help those in need. He has a strong sense of humor and enjoys making people laugh with his performances, which often feature sensual and comedic characters.
However, Kaisei hides a dark side to his personality, being incredibly ambitious, and sees those with talent as "eyesores" and wants to "get rid of them". His happy-go-lucky personality masks this side of him.
Rakugo Style[]
"The Art of Seduction". Kaisei is known for representing female characters with notably realistic voices, despite having a naturally deep voice. His roles with seductive women and his broad talents are elements that highlight the sensuality of his performances. And then, when he makes a stupid face, his female personas seem sillier and more comedic, completely breaking the audience's vibe and quickly changing the mood.[3]
History[]
During Kaisei's childhood, he often visited his mother's bar, where he met a familiar face, a frequent customer named Issho Arakawa. In time, when Kaisei's mother fell ill, he took it upon himself to look after her and somehow try to earn money to pay her medical bills.
One fateful day, Issho showed up at the hospital where Kaisei's mother was being treated and generously paid for all of her medical expenses as a sincere gesture of gratitude for the drinks Kaisei's mother served him at the bar.
Touched by Issho's kindness and curious about his profession, Kaisei asks what he works with, which Issho reveals is a rakugoka, a traditional Japanese storyteller.
Inspired by Issho's artistry and generosity, Kaisei decided to become a rakugoka and was eventually accepted into the Arakawa School, where he would hone his skills and master the art of storytelling with the help of his mentor Issho Arakawa.
With hard work and dedication, Kaisei rose through the ranks and was promoted to the illustrious rank of Futatsume by none other than his teacher and friend Issho, all in just two years, becoming a famous name recognized by the new generation.
Through Issho's kindness and selfless gesture, Kaisei is determined to follow his master's journey and continue his dream of Rakugo being achieved for future generations.
